Hacker joined the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home as an intern. Following his internship, Mike continued to work for the Thomas family as a licensed funeral director until July 1, 2009, when Mike purchased the funeral home. As a native of Sullivan County, Mike was given the opportunity to expand the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home in 2014 when he acquired the former McHenry Funeral Home in Dushore.
